Where it all started!
In 2017 the small group of youngsters living in Grwp Cynefin's homeless prevention project 'Yr Hafod' were set the challenge of coming up with a young persons answer to ASB - during the journey they learnt about Adverse Childhood Experiences - Youth Shedz is their response! A safe place, to learn, to grow, to be challenged and inspired - the first Youth Shed was born and we have lost count of the Awards that they have won - including the Best Homeless Prevention Project in the UK!!!!
The Shed is still thriving with young people aged from 17 - 25 (ish!). We are there every Friday from 12 - 5, where we eat together and be together. Spray painting, woodwork, creating sensory bottles and creative writing are some of the activities we have done recently, plus we have a monthly fishing trip in partnership with HWB Denbigh.
Some of our young people have dealt with upbringings affected by trauma in various ways, but are amazing at sharing their experiences of how they have become resilient and moving on with their lives. No matter your story, you will be welcomed by the gang in Denbigh!
